
In 1964, we offered CALPIS to thousands of athletes from 94 countries who gathered in the athlete’s
village for the Tokyo Olympics. Some drank two, three or more cups, and others even filled the drink in
their bottles and brought it with them to the competition venues.
The par ticipants from all over the world loved CALPIS. Our founder, Kaiun Mishima saw this and
expressed that “My dream is to establish one brother company in a host country of the Olympics as it
is held every 4 years.”
“From Japanese drink to worldwide beverage” - sending this Japanese-born drink, CALPIS to the
world. This is the star t of the dream to operate our overseas drink business.

Food is deeply rooted in the environmental features of the country. Our products are adjusted to fit the food culture and the needs of each country and region.
Currently, we have established our local companies in 4 countries and areas (the United States, Indonesia, Taiwan and Thailand), promoting CALPIS brand products and other items by considering
the needs in each region.
In addition, we sought the market oppor tunity in China and Vietnam where the economies were booming. We will continue marketing activities in these countries.
